Well… hopefully they don’t actually consider them lousy but you get what I was going for there.
I just returned from a one week vacation on the Gulf Coast of Florida with my immediate family. I would love to say it was relaxing but your first vacation with an infant is FAR from relaxing. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t incredible though! My little man loved every minute from the 20 hour drive down (yes, I realize that was a terrible choice) to spending countless hours hanging with and learning from his two older cousins.
It’s pretty much standard practice for me to photograph our vacations at this point but now that I have my son, it’s all about balance. It’s about knowing when to pick up the camera and capture a priceless moment and knowing when to put it down to share in the experience. I’m gradually finding the right balance for me but this is why I absolutely adore lifestyle photography sessions. You get to experience a real moment with your friends, family, or loved one but you have someone behind-the-scenes capturing it so you don’t have to miss a single second. Can’t get better than that.
